The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has cleared multiple environmental blackspots across Epe, Ikoyi, Lagos Island, and the Orile corridor, as the Authority continues its sustained sanitation drive across the State. The operations, which involved multiple trucks and sanitation crews, targeted medians, bus stops, bridges, and roadside locations where refuse had accumulated over time, restoring these public spaces to dignity.

In the Epe axis, extensive cleanup operations were conducted across multiple locations. The Alausa median was cleared, while refuse deposited at Paramount Bridge was fully evacuated. Work is ongoing on the Ikorodu Garage median with M054, while the stretch of refuse on the median in the Oluiwa area was cleared. Salako junction on Hospital Road, Ajaganabe junction on Recreation Road, and the Epe Central Mosque area were all restored to cleanliness. The Odomola and Poka media roads were also cleared, bringing relief to residents and commuters along the Epe corridor.

In the Ikoyi and Lagos Island axis, cleanup operations were conducted at the polo club opposite Zenith Bank on Awolowo Road, the FIRS office by Awolowo Road, and First Bank opposite. The Lagos City Centre, TBS Onikan, and Apongbon median were all cleared, while the third spot at Apongbon median also received attention. Olowogbowo underbridge was fully evacuated, and the Awoyaya median was cleared before and after. These interventions have restored dignity to these busy commercial and institutional corridors.

In the Orile axis, ongoing clearing operations were conducted on the P and T road median with MO43, while Adeleye Orile bus stop was cleared during and after. The Eyin Eyo by Nnamdi Azikiwe opposite Access Bank was cleared, along with the second spot at the same location. Opposite 141 Restaurant was also restored to cleanliness. The operations ensured that these busy corridors were fully restored, bringing relief to residents and commuters along the Orile corridor.

The operations reflect LAWMA’s unwavering commitment to environmental cleanliness and public health, as the Authority continues to deploy resources across the State to ensure that no community is left behind in the pursuit of a cleaner Lagos. The Authority reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing environmental laws and ensuring that all residents and businesses comply with sanitation regulations. Residents are encouraged to support these efforts by patronising approved PSP operators and avoiding indiscriminate waste disposal, as environmental cleanliness remains a shared responsibility that requires the cooperation of all stakeholders.
