The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) Waste Investigation, Surveillance and Enforcement operatives have sustained the eradication of blackspots and indiscriminate dumping along the Ikorodu Road corridor, with operations covering multiple axes over the past two days. The exercise forms part of the Authority’s ongoing commitment to maintaining a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment across Lagos.

On Thursday, 2 October 2026, the enforcement team carried out sustainability operations at the Jibowu axis, with night shift operatives deployed to prevent indiscriminate dumping of refuse in the area. The team also sustained blackspot eradication at the Fadeyi axis along Ikorodu Road, ensuring that previously cleared locations remained free of waste and illegal dumping activities.

On Friday, 3 October 2026, the operations continued across several locations. The team carried out blackspot eradication at Shylon Street along Ikorodu Road, as well as at Pangrooove, where ongoing monitoring is being sustained to prevent a return of illegal dumping. The walkway by Sunday Street also received attention, with operatives ensuring that the area remained clean and accessible to pedestrians.

In addition, the enforcement team sustained operations at the Onipan axis along Ikorodu Road, addressing indiscriminate dumping of refuse in the area. The operations are designed not only to clear existing blackspots but also to ensure that cleared locations are not reoccupied by individuals who disregard environmental laws.

The Authority reiterated that the sustainability of cleared areas remains a top priority, noting that constant vigilance is essential to preventing the destruction of the environment and public infrastructure. LAWMA warned that anyone caught dumping refuse at unauthorised locations would face the full weight of the law.

Residents and business owners along the Ikorodu Road corridor are urged to patronise approved PSP operators and to dispose of waste responsibly. The Authority reaffirmed its commitment to working with relevant stakeholders to maintain a cleaner, healthier, and more orderly Lagos.
