As the collation of results from the August 15 governorship election progresses, the APC candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), has taken an early lead over his closest rival. According to real-time updates from 508 polling units so far, the APC has secured 45,456 votes, while the Accord Party, led by Governor Ademola Adeleke, trails with 44,136 votes. The ADC has managed only 1,300 votes.

The early lead reflects the growing momentum and widespread acceptance of AMBO’s message of inclusive development, economic empowerment, and good governance. Across the state, voters have turned out in large numbers to support the APC candidate, rejecting the failed policies of the Adeleke administration, which has been characterized by nepotism, mismanagement of resources, and neglect of communities outside the governor’s hometown.
The APC situation room has reported that the party is confident of victory, noting that the early returns are consistent with the feedback from polling units across the state.
