The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has sustained its cleanup operations across multiple corridors, clearing environmental blackspots in Lekki, Surulere, Lagos Island, and Ikeja, as the Authority continues its comprehensive sanitation drive across the State. The operations, which involved multiple trucks and sanitation crews, targeted medians, bus stops, markets, and roadside locations where refuse had accumulated over time, restoring these public spaces to dignity.

In the Lekki and Epe corridor, ongoing evacuation operations were conducted on the Awoyaya median along the Lekki-Epe Expressway with M055, while pockets of refuse at Desa bus stop and Onosa bus stop in Ibeju-Lekki were cleared. The stretch of refuse at Salako junction on Recreation Road in Epe and Oredegbe street junction on Hospital Road in Epe were also cleared. Sabo junction on Marina Road in Epe was fully restored, while Balogun junction was cleared by 5CBM 006.

In the Surulere axis, extensive cleanup operations were conducted at Shitta bridge, Shitta underbridge, and Ojuelegba underbridge, all of which were cleared. Ajakaye junction, Mangoro Canal, and Cement bus stop were cleared by M050, while Egbeda-Idimu Road median by Alhaja Ayisat junction was cleared by MO22. These interventions have brought relief to residents and commuters along these busy corridors, where waste accumulation had become a major challenge.

In the Lagos Island and Ikeja axis, 5CBM 006 cleared Airport Bridge Ikeja, Oyetubo Street, and CMS Church, while Governor Road was also restored to cleanliness. Tinubu Square Fountain by Broad Street was cleared, and Ojota BRT by Ikeja was fully evacuated. Kakawa, Freedom Park, Olowogbowo, UBA headquarters by Broad Street, opposite Zenith Bank by Broad Street, and Bayo Kuku were all cleared. The TBS bin was attended to by MO13, while Lawal Adamoh House and opposite Moshalashi Street also received attention. The opposite Dr Express Pharmacy in Mushin was also cleared.

The operations reflect LAWMA’s unwavering commitment to environmental cleanliness and public health, as the Authority continues to deploy resources across the State to ensure that no community is left behind in the pursuit of a cleaner Lagos. The Authority reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing environmental laws and ensuring that all residents and businesses comply with sanitation regulations. Residents are encouraged to support these efforts by patronising approved PSP operators and avoiding indiscriminate waste disposal, as environmental cleanliness remains a shared responsibility that requires the cooperation of all stakeholders.
