The Lagos Grassroots Alliance (LGA) has held its 2026 retreat in Epe, bringing together leaders and members from across Lagos State for a three-day programme aimed at strengthening unity, reviewing grassroots structures, and enhancing mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections and beyond. The retreat, which ran from 9 to 11 October 2026, was hosted by OJ Falana.

According to the convener, the retreat featured strategic sessions, local government updates, and a unity match, all designed to reinforce the Alliance’s shared commitment to collective progress. The unity match served as a platform for members from different local governments to interact, build camaraderie, and reaffirm their common purpose beyond political engagements.

In a statement issued after the retreat, OJ Falana expressed gratitude to the Board of Trustees (BOTs), coordinators, and all members for their contributions and commitment to the success of the programme. He noted that the retreat provided an opportunity for the Alliance to review its grassroots structures and identify areas requiring strengthening as the state prepares for the next electoral cycle.
The retreat also featured updates from various local government chapters, allowing members to share experiences, challenges, and best practices from their respective areas. The sessions were designed to ensure that the Alliance’s mobilisation structures remain robust and responsive at the grassroots level, which remains the foundation of its operations.

Falana reaffirmed the Alliance’s commitment to building stronger grassroots structures and greater impact across Lagos State. He stated that the retreat reinforced the organisation’s guiding philosophy of inclusivity and collective action, captured in its motto: One Lagos, Many Voices.
The Lagos Grassroots Alliance stated that the outcomes of the retreat would inform its activities and engagements in the coming months as it continues to consolidate its presence across the state’s 20 local government areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas. The Alliance expressed confidence that the strengthened structures and renewed unity would position it for greater impact in the period ahead.
