Owolabi Falana, a Permanent Board Member of the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB), is currently attending the Education World Forum 2026 in London, United Kingdom, as a full delegate.

The forum, which runs from 17 to 20 May 2026, is the world’s largest gathering of education and skills ministers and leaders. This year’s theme is “Educating for a shared future: Peace, planet, purpose and pathways.”The event brings together policymakers from over 100 countries to deliberate on how education can address global challenges, from climate change to social cohesion and future skills.

Falana expressed profound gratitude to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for granting approval for his participation, describing it as a testament to the Governor’s dedication to elevating Lagos education through global best practices.
“I am deeply honoured to represent Lagos State at this prestigious forum. His Excellency’s approval underscores his belief that our educators and policymakers must engage with the world to bring home innovations that benefit our children,” Falana said.

The Nigerian delegation to the forum is led by Dr. Tunji Alausa, who heads the country’s team of education officials. The delegation is engaging in high‑level sessions on foundational learning, digital transformation, teacher development, and sustainable financing for education.

Falana noted that the insights gained from the forum will be deployed to strengthen basic education delivery in Lagos, particularly in the areas of curriculum innovation, inclusive learning, and strategic partnerships.
