The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has cleared multiple environmental blackspots across the Badagry, Ikeja, Maryland, and Lekki corridors, extending its sustained sanitation drive to critical locations that had been plagued by indiscriminate waste disposal. The operations, which involved multiple trucks and sanitation crews, targeted medians, bus stops, fences, and roadside locations where refuse had accumulated over time, restoring these public spaces to dignity.

In the Badagry and Ojo axis, LAWMA Truck MO08 led a comprehensive cleanup of multiple spots, including Jafo Fitness Cele, Mrs Filling Station Cele, Vespa Bus Stop, and the Cele Ijanikin axis, while MO41n cleared the Ile Epo bus stop median, Okokomaiko bus stop median, Okoafo bus stop median, and the second blackspot beside ST RITCH Mall in Ibereko. The operations ensured that these busy corridors were fully restored to cleanliness, bringing relief to residents and commuters along the Badagry Expressway.

In the Ikeja and Ojodu Berger axis, MO37 led the cleanup of Opebi Link Road fence, Oregun Media spots 3 through 11, Police fence spots 2 and 3, and Olusosun Media spots 1, 2, and 3, while M44 cleared the Onigbongbo bus stop, Airport bridge, Custom fence, Maryland median, Kodesoh wall, Adekunle Fajuyi junction, and Babatunde close. MO41n also cleared the Toll gate bus stop median, ensuring that these commercial and institutional corridors were fully restored to environmental order. The Fagba junction was also cleared.

In the Lekki and Ajah corridor, a comprehensive exercise was conducted, with the Lekki corridor receiving significant attention. The operations also covered the Underbridge along Lagos Abeokuta Expressway, which was fully evacuated, and the Ikate billboard location was cleared. These interventions reflect LAWMA’s unwavering commitment to environmental cleanliness and public health, as the Authority continues to deploy resources across the State to ensure that no community is left behind in the pursuit of a cleaner Lagos.

The Authority reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing environmental laws and ensuring that all residents and businesses comply with sanitation regulations. Residents are encouraged to support these efforts by patronising approved PSP operators and avoiding indiscriminate waste disposal, as environmental cleanliness remains a shared responsibility that requires the cooperation of all stakeholders.
