The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) Project WISE (West) operatives have sealed three facilities across separate locations within the district for non-compliance with the Lagos State Environmental Protection Law. The enforcement action, carried out on Wednesday, 30 September 2026, followed the service of default notices and intention to seal notices on the affected facilities.

The sealed facilities are Car Bake Room on Muili Street, Ikeja; All Seasons Plaza on Ipaja Road, Federal Junction, inward Gowon Estate, Mosan-Okunola LCDA; and Nylon Recycling Store on Egbeda-Idimu Road, Baba Oba Bus Stop, Idimu. According to the Authority, the facilities were sanctioned for indiscriminate refuse disposal, lack of waste containerisation, and refusal to pay waste bills. The premises will remain sealed until the necessary conditions for reopening are met.

In a related development, operatives of Project WISE (West) have sustained strict monitoring of the Egbe-Isolo Road median by Ikotun Irepodun Market axis, ensuring that the area remains free of indiscriminate refuse disposal. The median is being kept clean and waste-free as part of the Authority’s maximum zero-waste tolerance sustainability drive. The monitoring exercise is aimed at preventing the defacement of the environment and ensuring that the gains of previous enforcement operations are not reversed.

The enforcement team also continued the eradication of blackspots at Pangrooove along Ikorodu Road and at Obanikoro, opposite Awoof Restaurant, along the same corridor. The operations are part of ongoing efforts to eliminate illegal dumping points and restore environmental order along the busy Ikorodu Road axis.

Beyond enforcement, the Authority has sustained monitoring of already-cleared areas across the state to ensure that members of the public do not resume dumping at those locations. The Authority noted that constant alertness is essential to preventing the destruction of the environment and public infrastructure by individuals who disregard the cleanliness of Lagos. The monitoring exercise is designed to ensure that cleared areas remain clean and that enforcement gains are sustained over time.

The Authority reaffirmed its commitment to the zero-waste tolerance policy and warned that facilities and individuals found violating environmental laws would continue to face sanctions. Residents and business owners are urged to patronise approved PSP operators, ensure proper waste containerisation, and settle their waste bills promptly.
