The Toronto International Film Festival, presented by Rogers, is bringing back its beloved Festival Street for four days of free public programming, transforming King Street West between Peter Street and University Avenue into a bustling hub of film, art, music, and food.

From September 10 to 13, close to half a million people are expected to descend on the stretch, which will feature art installations, live music and DJs, free outdoor film screenings, an art market, food trucks, family-friendly activities, and opportunities to meet filmmakers and artists.
“This is the world’s largest public film festival, and Festival Street is where the city comes together to celebrate that,” said a TIFF spokesperson. “It’s free, it’s open to everyone, and it captures the energy and excitement that makes TIFF so special.”
New this year is the presence of the Liaisons of Independent Filmmakers Toronto (LIFT), joining returning community partners including Inside Out, Reel Asian, imagineNATIVE, and the Toronto Public Library at the Festival Street Art Market, presented in partnership with Toronto Film School.
The street will also feature striking public art installations. Among them is SLOW, a life-size participatory zoetrope by award-winning filmmaker Naomi Jaye, inspired by her father’s Parkinson diagnosis and his passion for photography. A dance class and artist talk with Dancing with Parkinson’s and Jaye will take place on Friday, September 11, at 1pm.
Other installations include Disco Speakers by Matt Jones, a larger-than-life fusion of disco balls, speakers, and LED lighting; and The Tree of Cinema, a monumental piece by Yury Goncharov and Alina Bielohryvtseva that explores cinema as a living archive of collective memory.
Cinema Park returns to David Pecaut Square with free nightly outdoor screenings at 10pm, rain or shine. This year’s lineup includes the 95th anniversary of Charlie Chaplin’s City Lights (September 10), Madagascar (September 12), the 75th anniversary of Hitchcock’s Strangers on a Train (September 14), the 55th anniversary of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (September 18), and the 45th anniversary of The Great Muppet Caper (September 19), among others.
Live music will be provided by three DJ stages, with programming curated in partnership with Canadian Music Incubator and the Toronto Downtown West BIA. DJs include Nino Brown, Young Teesh, DEROSE, OTR, Classic Roots, and more.
Food lovers can enjoy the Festival Street Food Market, featuring locally owned food trucks and new partners including Eataly, Fox on John, and GRETA, with a dedicated patio for relaxing and taking in the street’s energy.
The TIFF Shop Pop-up also returns with a brand new collection of TIFF ’26 merch, including hoodies, caps, tote bags, and locally made keepsakes.
On Sunday, September 20, TIFF will offer a free screening of the People’s Choice Award winner at TIFF Lightbox, supported by the TTC. Tickets will be available through Ticketmaster using the promotional code TIFFTTC.
