The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has cleared multiple environmental blackspots across the Badagry, Epe, Fadeyi, and Iyana Ipaja corridors, as the Authority continues its sustained sanitation drive across the State. The operations, which involved multiple trucks and sanitation crews, targeted medians, bus stops, markets, and roadside locations where refuse had accumulated over time, restoring these public spaces to dignity.

In the Badagry and Ojo axis, LAWMA Truck MO08n led a comprehensive cleanup of multiple locations, including Ile Epo bus stop median, the blackspot beside ST RITCH Mall in Ibereko, underbridge Cele spot one, Ashipa bus stop, Station bus stop Ijanikin, and the Okokomaiko market median. MO08n also cleared the Okokomaiko plantain market, the Opp rice seller Alaba Rago median, and the Alaba Rago bus stop junction median. The operations ensured that these busy corridors were fully restored to cleanliness, bringing relief to residents and commuters along the Badagry Expressway.

In the Iyana Ipaja and Ayobo axis, MO43 cleared the Ipaja Ayobo Road Mosan bus stop blackspot, though the truck got filled up at Mosan bus stop with leftover waste requiring additional trips. Fidelity bank blackspot was cleared by MO36, while the Abule Egba blackspot by the bridge was evacuated and the Oja Oba bus stop blackspot was sanitized. The Ogudu median by Ojota BRT bus stop was also cleared, ensuring that these busy corridors were fully restored.

In the Fadeyi axis, evacuation operations were conducted at Kadiri Street junction, clearing refuse that had accumulated at these points. The operations brought relief to residents and commuters along this busy corridor, where waste accumulation had become a major challenge.

The operations reflect LAWMA’s unwavering commitment to environmental cleanliness and public health, as the Authority continues to deploy resources across the State to ensure that no community is left behind in the pursuit of a cleaner Lagos. The Authority reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing environmental laws and ensuring that all residents and businesses comply with sanitation regulations. Residents are encouraged to support these efforts by patronising approved PSP operators and avoiding indiscriminate waste disposal, as environmental cleanliness remains a shared responsibility that requires the cooperation of all stakeholders.
